James Postell

Professor James Postell is the faculty member at the Department of Design (Product Design) at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. With a passion for teaching and design thinking, he focused his research, teaching, and writing on furniture, interiors, and materials. 

He authored "Furniture Design" (Wiley and Sons, 2007 and 2013) and co-authored "Materiality and Interior Construction" (Wiley and Sons, 2010). 

His interest in Italian Design stems from his experiences in graduate school, where he studied in Venice and worked briefly in Pierluigi Ghianda's bottega in Brianza. Now, his research agenda aims to explore how making, materials, and technology shape the culture and disciplines of design.
