Balancing the work areas are communal areas designed for meetings and events. A twenty-foot-long dining table crafted from a fallen California tree is the magnet around which staff can host guests and gather for all-hands meetings, group lunches and happy hours. It sits beneath a custom lighting installation that incorporates reclaimed materials and construction drawings, celebrating Hines’ industry-leading work.

Overlooking the social space is a wood-clad boardroom at the mezzanine level. Half-way up the staircase, a mural painted by a local artist takes forms from Hines’ most prominent properties and abstracts them.

A palette of greens, creams, deep reds and browns yield warmth and freshness to the entire space. Floating architectural forms clad in blackened wood, handmade tile, and white oak create a dynamic environment layered with lush pothos and ferns, while rounded corners encourage flow and make movement through the space fluid and easy.
