Feast

EAST Hong Kong is a lifestyle-driven hotel located in the heart of Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong’s vibrant eastern business district. Conran and Partners has re-imagined its popular Feast restaurant, with an aspiration to not only create a new dining experience but also to incorporate EAST’s new Domain concept. The new design combines a contemporary aesthetic with a subtle Eastern influence to instil a sense of place. The overall design is both sophisticated and inclusive, layered with charm and playfulness. From informal to intimate, the redesign also features a variety of seating arrangements to suit the varied and ever-changing needs of the hotel’s guests and visitors. With a modern and inviting aesthetic layered with colour, the new Domain provides dynamic spaces in which guests can meet, work, relax, or have a light bite or coffee. Open grab-and-go counters and patisserie displays add to the relaxed and inviting atmosphere, while a double height ceiling offers a sense of theatre. In contrast, Feast, the bustling eatery at the far end of the space, adopts a richer, warmer palette with vibrant earthy tones and more luxurious materials. To counteract the spatial drama of the Domain atrium, Conran and Partners has designed more intimate dining spaces within the restaurant. To create an authentic journey through the linear space, the design uses light and texture to create a subtly changing enfilade of spaces, while offering contrasting zones of activity.
