Client: China National Convention Center
Concept i reimagined the shopping mall as a community hub, creating a space where people can come together, relax, and engage in meaningful interactions. By incorporating gardens and natural elements into the interior spaces, a calming and aesthetically pleasing environment is created that encourages visitors to spend more time in communal areas. The "Garden of Knowledge" and "Butterfly Garden" atriums serve as central hubs for social interaction, whilst he creation of secondary social spaces such as step terraces, curated artwork installations, and vibrant roof gardens encourages a sense of community and belonging. These spaces are strategically placed to promote gathering, relaxation, and entertainment, addressing the need for communal areas in urban settings. It was prioritized, where possible, the use of sustainable materials and energy-efficient systems, enhancing environmental well-being. The feature wall at the main entrance is constructed from recyclable materials - immediately showcasing the project's commitment to responsible design. The use of natural stone and recyclable materials not only reduces the environmental impact but also creates a healthier indoor environment for visitors. The integration of natural light from the vast skylights, as well as natural ventilation further enhances the well-being of occupants, making the mall a comfortable and inviting place. When needed, the lighting system employs controllable LEDs for energy efficiency, reducing operational carbon footprints.
